Paladin Group’s community engagement team are proudly sporting new environmentally friendly uniforms. The t-shirts have been a hit in Papua New Guinea keeping our team cool in the hot weather.
The t-shirts are made using a fibre which is 60% cotton and 40% recycled plastic bottles and are created by REPREVE. Shockingly, each year billions of plastic bottles end up in landfills all around the world. By repurposing plastic bottles into fibre REPREVE has already recycled over 14 billion plastic bottles.
Our team works with the community on a number of different environmental initiatives including recycling projects so it seems fitting to be doing this in recycled t-shirts!
Through our work with communities and across our business more broadly, we are committed to the responsible management of environmental issues and the protection and preservation of the natural environment.
As part of this commitment, earlier this year we also made changes across our supply chain to reduce single-use materials and ensure the sanitary re-use of commonly used items.
Working to protect and preserve the environment is one more way we can leave a lasting legacy where we work.
