Paladin has provided support to a series of film screenings on Manus Island led by Screens Without Borders, a not-for-profit organisation that brings professional cinema experiences to remote communities across the world.

The sponsorship is part of Paladin’s support for and commitment to the communities in which it operates. As part of the program, Screens Without Borders screened films at five venues across Manus Province. This is the first time that the community in Manus has experienced professional cinema since the 1970s.

Local staff are being trained to operate the equipment and film screenings will continue to be held regularly at locations across Manus.

Paladin Group Director Ian Stewart commented, “We are delighted to have been able to support the local community on Manus Island by sponsoring this great initiative. Cinema is a way of people coming together and we were really pleased to hear that the screenings were received so positively.”
